What are You doing with Time?
Ecclesiastes 3:1-11

Intro: We measure our life with time, from years to months, to weeks, to days, to hours, to minutes, to seconds. We hear the saying There is just not enough time. Time is a precious thing in which we want more of, but seem to waste the most of. A tombstone in a grave yard may read Born Dec 1, 1961- Died June 17, 2007. The dash is all we get; our life, the Bible says, is a vapor that appearth for a short time then vanisheth away.

We need to make our time count.

1. We need to take time to Live; cp. 1:2-3

A. yesterday is gone, tomorrow is full of uncertainties
B. we don’t know what tomorrow will bring
C. today is a gift from God that’s why it is called the present

The rich fool didn’t take time

2. We need to take time to Learn; 7:11-12

A. learn from our elders
B. learn from others
C. learn from our mistakes

Samson didn’t take time

3. We need to take time for Love; 9:9-10

A. love that family
B. love your friends
C. you spell love to your family t-i-m-e

Noah took time for his family

4. We need to take time for the Lord; 12:1,13,14

A. you take time for the Lord by giving him your time
B. take time to be saved by the Lord
C. take time to serve the Lord

The Rich man in hell didn’t take time.

Conclusion: Are you taking time for the right things in your life?
