Sins Reign!!
Romans 6:1-12

*Sin is represented as a king, ruler, or tyrant, who has the desires of the mind and the members of the body under his control, so that by influencing the passions he governs the body. Do not let sin reign, do not let him work; that is, let him have no place, no being in your souls; be not slaves in being or doing wrong, but be the freemen and willing servants of Christ in being and doing right. In your mortal body; let not the mind be enslaved to, or polluted by the bodily propensities, appetites, or passions. Control and regulate them according to the will of God. Let us look to the scriptures, to see how sin starts it’s reign and finishes it.

Sins' Pleasure; Hebrews 11:25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

A. sin reign always starts out as a pleasurable on
B. it doesn’t seem wrong to start with

Sins' Deceitfulness; Hebrews 3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

A. sin is deceiving, this is an old trick of the Devil
B. Deceitfulness means delusion

Sins' Weight; Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

A. after sins pleasure, and sins deceitfulness, sin becomes a weight
B. it is a load too heavy to bear, this weight is so heavy it pins you down, it’s got you and won’t let go

Sins' Wage; Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

A. sin has a payday, the problem is that everyone’s not ready for their wage
B. sin costs you something

Sins' Punishment; Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

A. sin has a punishment for eternity
