A Relationship with the King
Esther 10:1-3
Intro: In the start of the book of Esther, Mordecia was not ever recognized
by the king. Now at the end of the book they have a relationship. Our lives
are a lot like this, when we start out life we don’t have a relationship
with God, but I pray by the end of your life you do have a relationship with
the King, Jesus Christ. It is one thing to know someone, but to have a
relationship means both are involved with each other. Let us look to see how
this relationship was between them.
1. Promotion by the King: vs. 2 “the King advanced him”
A. the King does the promoting
B. the King put him above everything else
C. the King gave him something to do
2. Personal Relationship: vs. 3 “Mordecia the Jew was next unto the King”
A. to get close to the King one must be called of the King
B. to get close to the King one must be willing to get close
C. to get close to the King means to be next in line or joint heirs
3. Preference of the Brethren: vs. 3 “accepted of his brethren”
A. most of the brethren accepts the relationship with the King
B. some will not accept the relationship with the King
C. you can’t please everyone, so just try to please the King
4. Pursuit of the right things: vs. 3 “seeKing the wealth of his people”
A. you will seek to see where your people stand with the King
B. you will seek the welfare of your people with the King
C. you will seek to see if they have an inheritance from the King
5. Proclaim the relationship: vs. 3 “ speaking peace to all His seed”
A. tell of the relationship with the King
B. tell of what the King has done for you
C. pass down the relationship to others
Conclusion: What kind of relationship have you got with the King, Jesus?
